Why We Love This
Rediscovered in Chile about 12 years ago. Purple Angel spends 18 months in new French and American oak and offers a wonderfully elegant palate and great length. Purple Angel, has been recognised as Chile's best Carmenère. Critics all over the world have named this wine a "wine from another planet".
This vintage shows an intense, attractive,, carmine-red colour, with very nice tears on the side of the glass.
Tasting Notes
- Taste: A full and harmonious palate with impressive staying power, perfectly balanced and smooth. It leaves a vibrant, lasting sensation filled with an array of flavours.
- Aroma: Intense and elegant, dominated by ripe berries like blueberry and blackberry. The characteristic fig note blends seamlessly with sweet aromas of chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, and dulce de leche, thanks to the wine’s 18 months in French oak barrels.
- Finish: Exceptionally well-balanced and aromatic, extending to a very long and satisfying finish.
- Food Match: Red meat, rosemary lamb chops, pork ribs, cannelloni.
